(Greensboro, NC) The Florida Marlins announced today left-handed pitcher Sean West has been activated from the disabled list and will rejoin the Greensboro Grasshoppers roster.
Acquired in the first round of the 2005 First Year Player Draft, West picked up his first win in as many starts the Grasshoppers this season, pitching scoreless 6.0 innings and striking out four. He was placed on the DL April 14th after experiencing shoulder soreness.
West's return sends pitcher Felix Zabala to extended Spring Training. Zabala made one appearance for the Hoppers, pitching 1/3 of an inning and allowing one hit.
The team takes to the road for six games in seven days, stopping first for two games against the Lexington Legends followed by a four game stand with the Augusta GreenJackets.
West will make his second start of the season May 9th against the Legends.
