Thrashers Recall Popovic; Wolves Sign Netminder Reid

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled defenseman MARK POPOVIC (PAH-puh-vihk) from the Chicago Wolves for the fourth time this season. In addition, the Wolves have signed goaltender SCOTT REID to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).

POPOVIC is tied for sixth among American Hockey League defensemen with a career-high 12 goals. He ranks sixth on the Wolves with a career-high 26 assists and shares eighth with a career-most 38 points in 73 games.

The 23-year-old blueliner has appeared in six games with Atlanta this year, averaging 9:35 minutes per game in ice time.

REID has played eight games with three different teams in the American Hockey League this season, posting a 3-2-1 mark with a 2.11 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage with the Milwaukee Admirals, Norfolk Admirals and Peoria Rivermen. The 25-year-old netminder also dressed for the Wolves when they played the San Antonio Rampage on Oct. 26, but did not see any action.

The Grand Prairie, Alberta, native also registered a 15-18-4 record with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage in 38 games with the Corpus Christi Rayz of the Central Hockey League this season.
