Ozarks Public Television airing "The Original Springfield Cardinals: A Look Back" tonight at 7pm

You may know Stan "The Man" Musial, the Hall of Fame St. Louis Cardinal outfielder and baseball legend. But do you know Stan Musial, the aspiring minor leaguer who battled his way through baseball's farm system and chugged around the base paths at Springfield's White City Park?

Ozarks Public Television presents "The Original Springfield Cardinals: A Look Back," an original, locally produced feature documentary about the St. Louis Cardinals' minor-league affiliate from 1931-1942 - a team that produced players such as Musial and player/broadcast personality Joe Garagiola.

The program, which airs tonight at 7pm on Ozarks Public Television (channel 21 in Springfield and channel 26 in Joplin), features deeply personal and evocative memories through interviews with former players as well as rich context provided by baseball historians.
