Idaho's Randy Livingston named CBA's final player of the week

Boise, ID (March 13, 2006) - The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Idaho Stampede guard Randy Livingston has been named the final CBA Player of the Week this season for the week of March 6 through March 12. Livingston dished out a CBA season-high 23 assists on March 10 and helped the Stampede finish 2-1 in three games.
Livingston averaged 19.0 points, 16.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 steals last week. His 23 assists came in the only loss for the Stampede last week, a 126-119 setback to the Dakota Wizards. The 1996 LSU alum contributed 13 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the game. Livingston began the week with 22 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in a 107-101 victory over Dakota on March 7, then ended the week with 22 points, 15 assists, six rebounds and five steals in the regular-season finale on March 11, a 114-101 victory over Sioux Falls.
The 6-foot-4 guard, a native of New Orleans, La., signed with Idaho on Feb. 8 after beginning this season with the Galatasaray Cafecrown Istanbul in Turkey. He has played in 13 games for the Stampede, averaging 15.5 points, 12.7 assists and 5.5 rebounds. Livingston has tallied double-digit assist totals in 11 of his 13 contests and scored a season-high 25 points Feb. 15 against Yakama.
He was drafted in the second round (42nd overall pick) of the 1996 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. He went on to play 64 games that season, averaging 3.9 points and 1.5 rebounds. Livingston has played in 194 career NBA games for eight different squads, his last stint coming in 2004-05 for the Utah Jazz. He has played in 212 CBA career games for three different teams, including Idaho, Gary and Sioux Falls.
Livingston is eighth all-time in CBA history with 1,777 career assists, while he sits 21st all-time in steals (445) and 38th all-time in career minutes played (8,073).
