JOLIET, IL - The Joliet JackHammers have officially announced their promotional schedule for the 2006 season. The centerpiece of the promotional schedule is the Budweiser Legends Game. Yet, the promotional schedule is once again loaded with weekly promotions, giveaway items, theme nights, special events and guest entertainers. The JackHammers fifth anniversary season is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 26 at 7:05 p.m. versus the Edmonton Cracker-Cats at Silver Cross Field in Joliet's City Center.
The 2006 Budweiser Legends Game will feature former Major League Baseball players from the American League and National League squaring off in a nine-inning baseball game. The game will be played on Saturday, July 29, and additional details are forthcoming.
Monday home games during the 2006 season are "Giveaway Mondays." To date, giveaways such as bobblehead dolls and baseball card sets will be featured. Every Tuesday home game is a "Family Night" with a 6:05 p.m. start time and kids running the bases following the game. That same night, the Herald News presents "Jammer's Book Buddies Reading Club Night" which is the only night of the week students and participating teachers can redeem general admission ticket vouchers for taking part in the program. Last but certainly not least, every Tuesday home game marks Healthy Connection Chiropractic and Rehab Clinic's "Back-to-Back Cracks." If the JackHammers record back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, one lucky fan walks away with $10,000! Wednesday home games include the "Silver Cross Hospital Catch for the Cause" where fans can play catch on-field from 6:10 p.m. to 6:40 p.m.
Adults (ages 21 and older) will enjoy Thirst Quenching Thursdays. There will be a beer special at the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers Rooftop throughout the game. Every Friday home game is complete with a post-game fireworks show. However, the JackHammers have also added four post-game fireworks shows to Saturday nights as well! Besides post-game fireworks, four Saturday home games will feature guest entertainers (check promotional schedule for dates). Sunday home games are "Family Autograph Sundays" with an on-field autograph session following the games. Every JackHammers player and coach will be in attendance.
Giveaway items include: magnet schedules, bobblehead dolls, seat cushions, piggy banks, autograph books, logo baseballs, blankets, wristband wristwatches, baseball card sets, stress balls, pint glasses (two games), lunch boxes, visors, koozies, team photos and TY ® Beanie Babies. The four bobblehead doll giveaways throughout the season will feature Major League Baseball umpire Mark Carlson, Jammer, Noah and JackHammers pitcher Luis Villarreal.
Theme nights include: Salute to Statesville, Disco Fever, Salute to Dr. Suess, All Faith Night, You might be a redneck if ..., I love the 80's, Are you ready for some football?, Super Hero Night, JackHammers Go Country! and the Bark in the Park Halloween Celebration.
Special events include: Salute to Don Ladas Night, Negro League Tribute Night, Jammer's Birthday Party, Guns & Hoses Charity Baseball Game, Racin' the Bases Charity Softball Game, Cinco De Julio, Salute to Fire and Police, Salute to our Troops, Hispanic Heritage Night and Fan Appreciation Night.
Guest entertainers include: The Blues Brothers, Dancing Christopher, REGGY and Myron Noodleman. In addition, Jammer and Champ will be at every home game!

All JackHammers games will be heard on 1340-AM WJOL. The gates of Silver Cross Field will open one hour prior to game time unless otherwise noted.
