66ers Reacquire Lucas, Pick Up Greer

GREENVILLE, S.C., February 7 - The Tulsa 66ers have re-acquired guard John Lucas III and acquired forward Quemont Greer from the NBA Development League available player pool. The 66ers also waived guard Ronald Blackshear.

Lucas III, 5-11, 165, returns to the 66ers after playing out a pair of 10-day contracts with the Houston Rockets. He played in 13 games for the Rockets, averaging 8.2 minutes, 2.3 points, 0.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He recorded an NBA-high game of nine points against the Dallas Mavericks on January 18.

Prior to earning his two GATORADE Call-Ups, Lucas III played in 14 games (14 starts) for the 66ers, averaging 32.7 minutes, 15.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He was assigned to Tulsa as an allocation player prior to the 2005 D-League Draft.

Greer, 6-7, 240, finished his four-year career at DePaul as the 13th-leading scorer in school history with 1,397 points. In 118 games at DePaul, he averaged 11.8 points and 5.7 rebounds. He was a first team All-Conference USA selection as a senior after putting up 18.3 points and 7.6 rebounds over 29 games. He set a school record with eight consecutive games of scoring 20 or more points and was the first player in C-USA history to earn three straight player of the week honors.

Blackshear played in three games for the 66ers after being acquired on January 6, averaging 8.3 minutes, 1.7 points and 0.7 rebounds.

Both Lucas III and Greer are expected to be in uniform when the 66ers (12-15) are host to Austin (13-12) on Friday.
