 Hershey Bears

Bears open four game road trip tonight in Bridgeport

January 6, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY embarks on the 2006 portion of the schedule tonight, with the commencement of a four-game road trip at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.

The BEARS enter 2006 with 22 wins and just seven regulation losses after a 5-1 win over Philadelphia on December 31. Bridgeport has points in six straight games, including five wins, but will enter play tonight with two goaltenders signed this week on short notice. With goalers Wade Dubielewicz and Frederic Cloutier both recalled to the New York Islanders this past week, the Sound Tigers feature former Reading Royals backstop Cody Rudkowsky and AHL journeyman Gregg Naumenko on the roster tonight. Naumenko was signed today by Bridgeport, while Rudkowsky has yet to play in an AHL game this season.

With the World Junior Championships coming to a close in Vancouver Thursday, Chris Bourque has rejoined the club and is expected to play tonight. He has not played for HERSHEY since December 17 against Hamilton.

Tonight's game can be heard via the BEARS radio network (100.1 FM WQIC and 1490 AM WLPA). John Walton has the call of the action from southern Connecticut beginning at 7:15 p.m.
