Norfolk Admirals News Release

Carl Corazzini had two goals and Matt Keith had a goal and an assist as the Admirals beat the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 5-2.

Three goals in the first six minutes of play vaulted the Admirals to a big lead in the opening period. At 2:40, Eric Meloche scored his first tally as an Admiral by tapping in a loose puck from behind the goal line. Seven seconds later, Matt Keith tied the franchise record for fastest two goals by backhanding the rebound of a Dustin Byfuglien shot into an empty cage. Under three minutes later, Carl Corazzini sent a shot on Bridgeport goalie Frederic Cloutier. In the process, a Sound Tigers defender knocked the Admirals winger and the puck over past Cloutier to give the home team a 3-0 advantage at 5:44. Bridgeport would draw to within one goal less than a minute later on a Jeff Hamilton tally at 6:37. The home team took a 3-1 lead into the first break.

Corazzini would re-establish the three-goal lead midway through the second stanza. After Bridgeport deflected a James Wisniewski shot attempt to the corner, Corazzini scooped up the puck in front of the net and put it past Cloutier for his second of the evening at 11:17. Bridgeport drew to within two on another Hamilton tally at the 13:43 mark. The power play goal made the score 4-2 at the second intermission.

Bridgeport sent ten shots Adam Munro's way in the third, but none got past the Norfolk netminder. Jason Morgan iced the victory on an empty-netter with 48 seconds remaining.

Adam Munro picked up his second straight win and made 26 saves in the process. Bridgeport's Frederic Cloutier stopped 31 of 35 Admirals' shots and was saddled with the loss.

Norfolk was 0-6 on the power play while Bridgeport was 1-4.
