Iowa Stars Forward Reassigned by Dallas

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the Dallas Stars have reassigned left wing Garrett Burnett (JAIR-eht) from the Iowa Stars to the Phoenix Roadrunners of the ECHL.

Signed as a free agent by Dallas on August 15th, 2005, the 30 year-old Burnett skated in 10 games for Iowa this season after being loaned to them by Dallas on October 11th. His numbers in 10 games with Iowa reflect 104 penalty minutes and 1 assist: 10(0/1/1)104. Burnett departs Iowa holding the record for most penalty minutes in a game: 37 on October 15th in Peoria.

Last season, the Coquitlam, British Columbia native skated in seven games for Danbury of the United Hockey League (UHL) last season, notching one assist and 48 penalty minutes: 7(0/1/1)48.

The 6-3, 230 pound winger twice led the American Hockey League in penalty minutes: 346 PIM's with the Hartford Wolf Pack in 2002-03 and 506 PIM's with the defunct Kentucky Thoroughblades in 1998-99. In 396 professional games, he has accumulated 2576 penalty minutes, 48 points, including 22 goals: 396(22/26/48)2576
