Falcons' Jaeger Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Brett Jaeger of the Fresno Falcons is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for October 31-November 6.

Entering his second season in the ECHL and with the Falcons, the 23-year-old went 2-0-0 with a 1.38 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage to help Fresno go 3-0-0.

The 5-foot-10 and 190-pound Jaeger had 28 saves, including three in overtime, and stopped three shooters in the shootout in a 3-2 shootout win against Stockton on Friday. Making starts in back-to-back nights, Jaeger stopped 34 shots in regulation, one shot in overtime and all four players in the shootout to give Fresno a 2-1 shootout win at Long Beach on Saturday.

As a rookie in 2004-05, Jaeger went 19-9-6 with two shutouts, a 2.49 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. He was named ECHL Saver of the Month for February after going 5-0-2 with a 1.06 goals-against average and a save percentage of .971. Jaeger set the Falcons record for longest streak without allowing a goal last season with 166:52 from February 15-20, surpassing the previous mark by 56 minutes.

Prior to turning professional, the native of Manning, Alberta played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with Drayton Valley and three seasons in the Western Hockey League with Medicine Hat, Vancouver and Saskatoon. Jaeger was named Most Valuable Player in the AJHL in 2003-04 and also was named Most Valuable Player in the AJHL All-Star Game. He was 23-18-4 with a goals-against average of 2.60 in 50 games with Saskatoon in 2002-03, earning WHL weekly honors for November 25-December 1.
