LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 2-0-0 OVERALL RECORD: 2-0-0, 4 pts., 1st Place Pacific Division
Oct. 21 vs. Victoria, 2-1 Win - Derek Krestanovich and Fraser Clair both scored and goaltender Brett Jaeger made 30 saves as the Falcons began the season with an opening night victory.
Oct. 22 vs. Stockton, 4-3 Win - Four different goal scorers staked Fresno to a quick 4-0 lead just minutes into the second period. The visiting Thunder rallied to pull within one early in the third period, but the Falcons' penalty kill stiffened to thwart five of six third period shorthanded situations to secure a perfect opening weekend.
THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES
Friday, Oct. 28 @ Long Beach Ice Dogs, 7:30 p.m. - Fresno's first road game of the season. Radio broadcast on 1550 Sporting News Radio will be tape delayed, beginning at approx. 10 p.m. B2 Networks pay-per-view video webcast will not be available (Long Beach, Utah, and Victoria do not carry B2 Networks).
Saturday, Oct. 29 vs. Idaho Steelheads, 7 p.m.* - First of two against the 2003-04 Kelly Cup Champs. First 2,000 fans will receive a Falcons rally towel.
Sunday, Oct. 30 vs. Idaho Steelheads, 5 p.m.* - First 2,000 fans receive Falcons Poster #1 of a series of five. Kids 12 & under FREE! Fresno State Bulldog hockey game precedes Falcons at 1:15 p.m.
* Live radio broadcast on 1550 Sporting News Radio begins 15 min. before face-off; B2 Networks pay-per-view video webcast begins at face-off, which can be accessed at www.fresnofalcons.com.
NOTES
. Rookie goaltender Jamie Holden registered his first career victory in his first career professional start on Saturday before getting called up to the Cleveland Barons (AHL) following the game.
. Six different Falcons have scored the team's six goals this season.
. This is the organization's third 2-0-0 start in its 11-year professional history. The team also began the campaign with two straight victories in 1999-00 and 2003-04, but has never gone 3-0-0 to begin a season.
. The Falcons sit atop the Pacific Division following the first weekend of ECHL action, two points ahead of Bakersfield and four points in front of winless Stockton, San Diego, and Long Beach.
