Augusta Lynx News Release
Week In Review
10/21 vs. South Carolina
4-2 Win
Augusta rode the strength of a three-goal second period to the win on Friday night to open the 2005-06 Season.
Shaun Fisher scored the game winner while Jake Riddle, Ryan Bennett, and Dan Sullivan all added singles in the win. Jason Wolfe started the game but left with an injury after allowing one goal in 20:59 of play. Seamus Kotyk came into the game and made 26 saves in relief to earn the win.
10/23 vs. Columbia
1-0 Win (OT)
A goaltending duel between Kotyk and Columbia's Robert Gherson extended all the way to overtime, with Augusta coming out on top thanks to a Dan Sullivan goal 3:31 into overtime to give the Lynx a 1-0 overtime victory against the Columbia Inferno on Sunday.
Kotyk and Gherson kept their teams in the game despite facing power play after power play. Augusta finished 0-for-7 with the man advantage while the Inferno finished 0-for-9 on the night.
Finally, Brian Passmore broke down the right wing with Sullivan in OT, firing a low shot that rebounded into the slot. Sullivan put the puck home over top of a sprawling Gherson to give Augusta the win.
