Royals Notes:

- The Royals' 3-2 victory over Johnstown in the opening game of the 2005-06 season brings Readings' opening game record in the five years of team history to 3-2-0.

o Last year the Royals lost the team's season opening game, 3-1, in Trenton.

- In Saturday's game, the Royals trailed after the first period, 1-0.

o Last year the Royals' record was 2-13-3 when trailing after one period.

o The Royals went 7-17-4 in 2004-05 when the opponent scored first.

- Reading and Johnstown were tied at one after two periods in Saturday's season opener.

o The Royals went 11-4-3 when tied after two periods last year.

- Johnstown took a 2-1 lead in the third period before Reading scored back-to-back goals for the 3-2 win on Saturday.

o Last year, the Royals had a record of 2-17-2 when trailing after two periods.

- Coach Karl Taylor's victory behind the Royals bench on Saturday was his first pro victory in his first game as a pro coach.

- Mike Pandolfo scored the first goal of the season for the Royals at the 1:55 mark of the second period, while Reading was on the power play.

- Pandolfo also scored the game winning goal for the Royals, an unassisted short-handed goal 9:57 into the third period.

o Last season the Royals led the ECHL with 16 short handed goals and ten of those were scored while the team was on the road.

- For Pandolfo, a fourth year pro, his two goal performance on Saturday-which included the game winner-came in his first game in the ECHL.
