Edwardson Arrives in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Sunday the team added center Derek Edwardson.

The newest member of the Wranglers was signed over the summer, but started the season with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League after signing a 25-game player tryout contract. Edwardson was released from that contract earlier this week, allowing him to join Las Vegas.

Edwardson made his professional debut with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies last season, playing in 69 games and leading the Bullies in overall scoring with 64 points, including a team-leading 41 assists. The 24-year old placed second on the team with 23 goals scored. The center's 64 points finished as the third-highest total for rookies in the ECHL and his 41 assists tied for the league lead among first-year players. Edwardson represented Atlantic City and the National Conference at the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All Star Game at Reading, PA in January. The Morton Grove, IL native scored the National Conference's fourth goal, helping them to a 6-2 win over the American Conference. He also won the shot accuracy contest at the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All Star Game Skills Competition.

Pardy Assigned by Omaha

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Monday that defenseman Adam Pardy has been assigned to Las Vegas by the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, the Wranglers' AHL affiliate.

Pardy played his first professional game for the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in a 1-0 win at Iowa on October 8th. He completed his junior career in 2004-05 with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL. He set career highs for games played (69), goals (12), assists (27), points (39) and penalty minutes (163). The native of Bonavista, Newfoundland was the Flames sixth pick, 173rd overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft.

This Week's Opponent-

Florida Everblades - (0-0-0, 0 Points) - The Wranglers are 0-2-1 against the Everblades all-time, including a 0-2-0 record at Germain Arena. Las Vegas is 2-0-0 in season openers, both wins came on the road. The Everblades return veterans Reggie Berg, Ryan Brindley, and Ernie Hartlieb from a team that posted a 42-20-10 record in 2004-05.
