ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that the team has acquired forward John Ronan from the Alaska Aces of the ECHL for financial considerations.

Ronan, who made his professional debut last season with the Aces playing in two games, will join the Everblades today. The 25-year-old will skate in his first full rookie season in 2005-06 after spending the past four years at the collegiate level with the University of Maine. Last year, the Braintree, Massachusetts native tallied 20 points (11g, 9a) in 37 games with the Black Bears. Overall, Ronan notched 47 points (25g, 22a) in 132 career games while at Maine.

In a separate move, rookie forward Petr Taticek was called up to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League this weekend. The 22-year-old native of the Czech Republic was the first round draft pick (9th overall) of the Florida Panthers in 2002 and picked up an assist in the Everblades first pre-season game against Toledo last week.

The Everblades open the 2005-06 season on Friday, October 21 vs. the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena! Everblades 2005-06 full season, half season, group tickets, and individual game tickets are on sale now!
