Arizona Rattlers News Release

PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League have signed offensive/defensive linemen Kelvin Ingram, Asi Faoa, and Steve Warren to one-year contracts, head coach Gene Nudo announced today.

"We are really focused on beefing up the front line," Nudo said. "These three signings do just that for us."

Ingram (6-foot-4, 319 pounds) will play in his third-consecutive season with the Rattlers and sixth overall. The nine-year veteran joined the club in 1999 after spending two seasons with the Orlando Predators. Following his first three seasons in Arizona, Ingram played for the Toronto Phantoms (2002), the Tampa Bay Storm (2002), and the Carolina Cobras (2003) before rejoining the Rattlers in 2004 after a brief stint with the New York Dragons.

In his nine seasons, Ingram has accumulated 76 tackles and 12 sacks. The occasional tight end has also caught 19 passes for 196 yards and six touchdowns.

"He was a guy that we didn't want to lose again," said Nudo. "His experience helps us keep chemistry up front."

Faoa (6-foot-4, 275 pounds) is entering his second season in the AFL after an outstanding season with the arenafootball2 league's San Diego Riptide. In 14 games with the Riptide, he tallied 24 tackles (five for losses) and ranked second in the league with ten sacks.

While at the University of California at Los Angeles, Faoa started at linebacker as a true freshman in 1999. In 2000, he made the switch from linebacker to defensive end. As a junior, Faoa played in all 13 games and finished with 24 tackles, three for losses, and two sacks. In his senior season, he played both end and tackle, and was the co-winner of UCLA's Jerry Long "Heart" Award.

In 2004, the lineman signed with the Los Angeles Avengers, playing in two games.

Warren (6-foot-1, 305 pounds) will enter his second season in the Arena Football League after spending a year with the San Jose SaberCats, where he recorded five tackles, two sacks, and forced a fumble in 11 games. Offensively, he was used in goaline situations, scoring six touchdowns on 13 rushing attempts.

Prior to joining the SaberCats, Warren was selected in the third round (74th overall) by the Green Bay Packers in the 2000 NFL draft. In his three seasons with Green Bay, he recorded 31 tackles, five pass breakups, a sack, and a forced fumble.

A four-year letterman at the University of Nebraska, Warren started every game at nose guard his senior year earning "AP All-Big 12" honors. In his 42 games with the Huskers, he tallied 96 tackles and eight and a half sacks.

"Warren is a guy that has great potential in this league," said Nudo.

The team also signed rookie free-agent quarterback Jeff Otis and offensive specialist Jeremiah Pope (Albany Firebirds - af2).

Earlier this week, the Rattlers QB Sherdrick Bonner and OL/DL Wendall Gaines each inked one-year deals.

The Rattlers will kick off their 15th season in the 20-year-old Arena Football League in January of 2006. Rattler season tickets, which include all eight games played at America West Arena, can be purchased by calling 602-514-8300.
