Ice Pilots Sign Veteran Defenseman

Pensacola, FL - The 2004-2005 Brabham Cup Champion Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that defenseman Rod Aldoff (pronounced Al-doff) has signed a contract with the team for the 2005-2006 season.
Aldoff, who stands 5'11" and weighs 205 pounds, played in 67 games for Rockford last season in the United Hockey League scoring 6 goals, 20 assists for 26 points and picked up 47 penalty minutes in 67 games played. He helped Rockford reach the semi-finals in the UHL playoffs last season scoring one goal, four assists for five points and picked up two penalty minutes in 13 playoff games.
Aldoff played for Ice Pilots Head Coach Rick Adduono during the 2002-03 season when Adduono was head coach of the Greensboro Generals in the ECHL scoring 9 goals, 23 assists for 32 points and picked up 36 penalty minutes in 54 games played.
Aldoff also played his professional career in the ECHL with Tallahassee and Pee Dee, Long Beach and Utah in the IHL, San Diego in the WCHL and over seas with Ambri-Piotta in the Swiss A league, Vipiteno in Italy and with Ingolstadt ERC and Straubing in Germany. He played his college hockey at Minnesota-Duluth and is 34 years old from Lethbridge, Alberta and shoots left.
"Rod will bring a lot of experience and leadership to our defense. He is a quality person and will be a leader in the locker room," said Ice Pilots President Mario Forgione. "As the season is approaching, our organization continues to be committed in recruiting character players that are quality people both on and off the ice."
"Rod is a veteran player as his leadership will be a plus for us this season. He is a steady defenseman who brings every facet of the game to our organization which is important to have in a veteran player," said Ice Pilots Head Coach Rick Adduono.
The Ice Pilots will play two home preseason games vs. Gwinnett on Friday, October 14 and Sat urday, October 15 at 7:05 p.m. Prices of tickets are $11 for lower level seats and $6 for upper level seats.
Season tickets for the Ice Pilots 2005-2006 season are
on sale. Prices for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $678.96, side
seats are $489.60, goal seats and lower upper seats are $443.52 and upper seats cost
$356.40. Partial season ticket plans are also available for as low as $85.84. Fans
can call the Ice Pilots office at 432-7825 for season ticket and corporate
sponsorship information.
