Royals' Weekly Radio Show Returns Monday, October 10

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, today announced that the team's weekly coach's show, Royals Weekly, will kick off for the second consecutive season at The Classic Café, in Bern Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday, October 10 at 6:00 p.m.

The live, one-hour call-in talk show will be hosted by the Royals' broadcaster, Mark Thompson, and can be heard every Monday at 6:00 p.m. throughout the season on the Royals' flagship radio station, ESPN Radio, 1240 am in Ephrata. Royals' Weekly will feature regular segments with coach, Karl Taylor, team members, representatives of the organization, and other notable persons throughout the hockey world, as well as updates on Reading's affiliates in the AHL and NHL. Coach Taylor and General Manager, Gordon Kaye, are the scheduled guests for the show on October 10.

There will also be a wireless crowd microphone manned by "Turbo" Ted Minner, taking questions and comments from fans in attendance at the Classic Café. And, being present at the Royals' Weekly will have its benefits, too, as there will be a number of opportunities to win prizes, such as movie passes to the Fox East Theatre and free bowling from Bowl-A-Rama, as well as Royals' merchandise.

Located on Route 183 in Bern Township, one mile north of the Reading airport, The Classic Café (610-916-1899) is known for friendly service and a casual atmosphere with fine dining options for everyone in the family. The Classic Café is open seven days a week-making it a traditional favorite for Royals' fans looking for some delicious food both before and after Royals' games. In addition to hosting the Royals' Weekly radio show, for the second consecutive season, the Classic Café is also sponsoring the "Four-or-More Goals" game night promotion with the Royals. Under this promotion, The Classic Café will provide a free appetizer, with the purchase of a separate entrée, to each fan who presents his or her ticket stub from a game in which the Royals scored four or more goals.

Tony Kodz, the Classic Café's owner, expressed his enthusiasm about the return of the Royals' Weekly radio show to his restaurant. "We're excited to host the Royals' coach's show again. It seems that everyone who works at the restaurant is a big fan of the team, and we like to create an atmosphere that's supportive of the coach, players and fans. We welcome everyone to come on out and be a part of the fun."

The Royals' kick off training camp on Monday, October 10, and the team takes on the defending Kelly Cup champion, Trenton Titans, in a pair of pre-season exhibition games on October 15 (in Monmouth, NJ) and 17 (at the Body Zone in Reading at 7:05 p.m.). The first home game for the Royals 5th Anniversary Season is on Saturday, October 29, when Reading takes on the Titans at the Sovereign Center in Reading. The Royals will raise the North Division regular season championship banner prior to the drop of the puck.
