Cardinals and Red Cross thanks fans

September 19, 2005 - Texas League (TL1)
Springfield Cardinals News Release

The Springfield Cardinals, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, would like to thank all Cardinals fans that donated money in support of the Hurricane Katrina victims. Fans that attended the Cardinals games from September 2-4 were able to make a contribution to the Disaster Relief Fund Collection outside Hammons Field. During those three days, the Red Cross collected a total of $12,421.15 to be used in the 2005 Hurricane Relief effort. Your generous donations will be used to help provide food, clothing, and shelter to those families in need.

With the continued support of the American public, the Red Cross is able to provide assistance to families in need, free of charge. Through donations, they are able to save lives and give hope through Disaster Relief Services, Health and Safety Services, and 24-hour Armed Forces Emergency Assistance. The Springfield Cardinals would again like to thank all fans that donated to the American Red Cross. Your generosity will help supply necessities to thousands of victims affected by Hurricane Katrina.

If you would like to make a donation to the American Red Cross, you can call 1-800-HELP-NOW (1-800-435-7669) or donate online at www.redcross.org.
