HERSHEY - The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club announced today that they have signed goaltender Kirk Daubenspeck. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Daubenspeck, 6'0" 190 pounds, was drafted in the seventh round of the 1992 entry draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Last season Daubenspeck split time between South Carolina of the ECHL and the Portland Pirates. Portland made a late season playoff push riding the shoulders of Daubenspeck who finished the season with a 14-12-0-1 record and a 2.31 GAA. The Madison, Wisconsin native has had three seasons with 29 or more wins as a professional.
The BEARS return to the ice at GIANT Center for an exhibition game on Saturday, September 24 for a game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:00 p.m. HERSHEY will also host the Norfolk Admirals for a preseason game Sunday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. before opening the 2005-06 regular season home schedule on Sunday, October 9 at 5:00 p.m. against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
