TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons will look to bounce back from a tough loss as they face the Columbus Clippers in the second game of a four-game series from Cooper Stadium (7:05 p.m. first pitch). Last night, the Herd got a complete-game from Fausto Carmona but lost to the Clippers, 1-0. The defeat was Buffalo's 11th in their last 13 games against Columbus. Looking to change that trend, the Bisons will send RHP Jason Davis to the mound tonight. Davis earned a victory on Thursday night in Toledo, allowing six runs in five innings in a Bisons' 9-6 win. He'll be up against RHP Jorge De Paula. De Paula earned a no-decision on Thursday, pitching 4.2 innings (7H, 4ER) against Scranton/W-B.

NO MISTAKES: Last night's game between the Bisons and Clippers came as close as you can come to a mistake-free game. Both teams played errorless baseball while neither pitching staff issued a walk or a hit-by pitch.

LOST GEM: Last night's loss is even tougher considering Fausto Carmona's fantastic gem. Carmona threw the Bisons' second complete game of the season (Cruceta, 5/22), allowing just one run on six hits. He struck out six and walked none, retiring nine of the last 10 batters he faced. The loss was Carmona's first in six career starts with the Bisons.

DOUBLE TRIP: Bisons' slugger Jeff Liefer doubled again last night as part of a 2-4 performance. Liefer has now doubled in four of the five games this road trip, taking over the team lead with 26 two-baggers (tied 4th in the IL). His two hits last night also raised his average to .319, 5th in the International League.

HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE: Bisons newcomer Jose Morban has already proven his versatility to the team. In just nine games, Morban has played five different positions. Last night, Morban made his first start in centerfield. He has also played left field, second base, third base and shortstop. Even with all that moving around, Morban has hit .290 (9-31) in his first three weeks with the Herd.

COACHING MOVE: The Bisons will no longer have player/coach Mike Bell on the bench. Bell has left the team to take over as hitting coach for the Single-A Kinston Indians. Bell, who was activated but did not play for the Herd from June 29-July 2, joined the Bisons on May 17. He began the 2005 season with Triple-A Memphis, hitting .071 (1-14) in 8 games before retiring.
