Lansing Lugnuts News Release

LANSING - The Toronto Blue Jays have announced today that outfielder Cory Patton has been transferred from the Lansing roster to the Auburn Doubledays of the New-York Penn League. Catcher Joshua Lex will join the Lugnuts today and take Patton's roster spot.

Patton departs the Lugnuts after hitting an even .200 in 58 games with six homers. Those long balls were good enough to tie him for the current team lead. The former Texas A&M product had skipped both rookie levels, making the Lugnuts out of spring training after signing with the Blue Jays too late to play in 2004.

Lex, a 23-year-old lefthander from Hayward, California joins the club today for the start of its series in Cedar Rapids. A 28th round pick in 2004 out of Oral Roberts University, Lex started his professional career in Pulaski last season after signing. In 26 games with the Blue Jays, he hit .287with two homers and 19 RBI. Lex had not played yet this season prior to his promotion to the Lugnuts.

The current roster moves place Lansing's active roster at 25 players.
