No Mas For Duran

South Bend Silver Hawks News Release


South Bend, IN – The Arizona Diamondbacks, the parent team to the Class A South Bend Silver Hawks of the Midwest League, have sent relief pitcher Enmanuel Duran to extended spring training and called up outfielder Josh Buhagiar.

Duran heads to Tucson after pitching in 10 games and starting 4 of those contests. Over his 10 games, Duran was 0-3, with an ERA of 8.06 in 22.1 innings pitched. Opponents hit .344 against the right-hander.

Buhagiar comes to the Hawks from extended spring training after playing the 2004 season in Yakima and Missoula. Buhagiar played just 4 games in Yakima, where he was hitless in 9 at-bats. In Missoula, the Long Beach State 49er, hit .260, with 2 home runs and 22 RBI.

Buhagiar was a 32nd round selection of the Diamondbacks in 2004.

The Silver Hawks return home tonight to host the Burlington Bees for four games. Tonight is Budweiser Dollar Monday, presented by ABC 57 and B-100, featuring $1.00 tickets, $1.00 hot dogs, $1.00 beer, and $1.00 Pepsi products.
