SpongeBob SquarePants to visit TELUS Field

(Edmonton, AB) – The Edmonton Cracker-Cats announced today that one of television’s most popular kids’ characters is coming to the ballpark.

On Sunday May 29, the Cracker-Cats and Shaw Cable are bringing SpongeBob SquarePants from his pineapple under the sea to come visit his fans at TELUS Field as the Cracker-Cats take on the Sioux Falls Canaries at 1:35PM. Gates will open early at 11:50AM.

There will be a picture session with the porous sponge between 12:00 and 12:45PM and again from 1:00 to 1:20PM in the upper mezzanine prior to the game. During the game he will take part in activities on the field with some of his lucky fans. There will be various SpongeBob SquarePants prizes given away.

“SpongeBob SquarePants is great for kids of all ages,” says Angela Thompson, Director of Promotions and Events Marketing. “Everyone should come down to the park to see him. He’s fun for the whole family.”

The Cracker-Cats open their inaugural season on May 20, at Kansas City. The home opener will take place on May 27, when the Cracker-Cats host the Sioux Falls Canaries.
