Patriots sign former Atlanta Braves pitcher Brad Clontz

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball have announced the signing of former Atlanta Braves right-handed pitcher Brad Clontz and infielder Jhonny Perez.
Clontz has six seasons of Major League Baseball experience with the Braves, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the New York Mets, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has a Major League career 22-8 record with a 4.34 ERA, and 210 strikeouts in 272 games pitched.
Clontz was a World Series Champion with the Atlanta Braves and finished the championship season with an 8-1 record, a 3.65 ERA, and 55 strikeouts in 59 games pitched. He went to three straight playoff appearances with the Braves.
Clontz spent the past two seasons at the Triple-A level for the Texas Rangers and the Colorado Rockies.
Perez had a .261 batting average with 104 hits, 16 doubles, ten home runs, 51 RBI, and 21 stolen bases for the Patriots during the 2004 season.
Perez has experience in the Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers organizations, including two seasons at the Triple-A level.
He has a career .273 batting average, 978 hits, 177 doubles, 23 triples, 416 RBI, and 181 stolen bases.
