
Milwaukee Wave lose to Chicago Storm, 7-3

(Milwaukee, WI) â The Milwaukee Wave dropped a 7-3 decision to the Chicago Storm this afternoon at UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois in front of 3,102 fans. With the loss, the Wave falls to 11-8 on the season, while Chicago improves to 8-12.
Chicago opened the first quarter with a goal at 8:43 by Matthew Stewart, assisted by Lazo Alavanja. The Wave quickly answered at 8:54 with an unassisted goal by Johnny Torres. Byron Alvarez of the Storm responded by collecting the third goal of the match at 10:37 off the assist by Alavanja.
The Storm took the first goal of the second quarter when Stewart converted for the score past Wave goalkeeper Dan Green at 5:34, off the assist from Leo Pernia. Fred DeGand of the Storm found teammate Alvarez streaking down the middle for Alvarez's second goal of the match at 8:01.
The third quarter opened up with a goal by Chicago's Sandre Naumoski at 3:10, as Green came out high, leaving an open net for the goal. Naumoski and Tijani Ayegbusi connected again for another goal just two minutes later (5:50) to give Chicago a 6-1 lead. The Storm collected it's sixth unanswered goal when Andy Rosenband found Nino DaSilva at 6:14.
Angel Rivillo took the pass from teammate Semir Mesanovic to score the Wave's second goal of the match at 1:41 in the fourth quarter. Mesanovic then scored an unassisted restart goal at 9:22 to bring the Wave within four, with just more than five minutes remaining in the game. However, the Wave was unable to overcome this deficit to defeat the Storm, evening the season series between these two teams at 3-3.

The Wave return home on February 4 versus the St. Louis Steamers at 7 p.m. February 4 is also the second "Kicks for Tix" contest. Groups of 25 people or more who have attended a Milwaukee Wave home game between December 31 and the February 4 game are invited to choose a representative from their group to compete in the halftime contest to win two (2) roundtrip tickets courtesy of Midwest Airlines.
After playing again in Chicago on February 11 at 7:30 p.m., the Wave will return home for a Sunday, February 13 contest versus archrival Baltimore Blast at 1 p.m. February 13 is Family 4 Pack Day. The Milwaukee Wave was established in 1984 as one of six charter members of the American Indoor Soccer Association (AISA). In 2001, the Wave transitioned to being a successful member of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). The Major Indoor Soccer League is a single-entity organization featuring a coast-to-coast presence with seven teams located across the United States. On February 27, the League announced an expansion team in Stockton, CA, that will begin play in 2005-06. On May 4, the League announced plans for an expansion team in Newark, NJ, that will being play in 2007-08. The Dallas Sidekicks, currently reorganizing under new leadership, plan to return for the 2005-06 season. The MISL is the single major league of indoor soccer.
