April 1, 2024 - Rochester, Minn. - Former Eau Claire Express pitcher Justin Slaten made his Major League debut for the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Slaten is the 343rd former Northwoods League player to reach the Major League level. Slaten, who played collegiately at the University of New Mexico, played for the Express in 2018. March 18, 2024 - Over the weekend, Eau Claire Express legend Kole Calhoun announced his retirement from Major League Baseball. This announcement comes after a tenured career with the MLB, having spent most of his time with the Los Angeles Angels, who drafted Calhoun in the 8th round of the 2010 MLB draft.
