August 23, 2016 - After being an NFCA First Team All-American at James Madison University, becoming the third overall and transitioning to a top rookie pitcher in the NPF this season, Akron Racer pitcher Jailyn Ford will be receiving another honor this fall, this time from her Alma Mater Bath County High School in Hot Springs, Virginia. August 21, 2016 - Sunday's game between the Akron RubberDucks and Bowie Baysox in Bowie, Maryland, was suspended in the top of the fifth inning with one out and the RubberDucks leading, 6-3. The game will be resumed and completed at Canal Park on Friday, September 2nd, as part of a doubleheader. The start time for the resumption of the suspended game has not been determined. August 21, 2016 - TUSCALOOSA, AL - The 2016 season came to an end for the Akron Racers Sunday afternoon with a 6-2 loss to the USSSA Pride in Game 2 of the NPF Championship Series Semifinals at Rhoads Stadium on the University of Alabama campus. The Pride pulled ahead of Akron early and built a 6-0 lead after five innings, before the Racers cut into the deficit with a two-out rally in the top of the sixth inning.
